An Assessor uses a range of techniques to test the learning of students in a vocational education setting. You might observe students in practice or set assessments such as written examinations or assignments. Assessors may also look at evidence such as portfolios of work or presentations. You might work for a training organisation that specialises in a particular field or for an institution such as TAFE.

Assessors must have strong analytical skills and keen attention to detail. It’s important you can follow correct procedures and manage your time well. Assessors must have good interpersonal skills and be able to communicate with people from a range of backgrounds.
