In this course you will learn to select components and install, test, fault find, repair and maintain refrigeration systems and equipment for food storage and preservation. You’ll also learn to apply these skills for air-conditioning and air distribution equipment for buildings and premises. The course covers the regulatory requirements for purchasing and handling refrigerants.

The PMA20116 Certificate II in Process Plant Operations, as provided by Volt Edge, is a technical qualification for operators in the hydrocarbons, petrochemical, chemical, metal/ore processing and related process manufacturing industry sectors.

It is intended to prepare workers who operate production equipment or undertake similar roles directly producing products. The operator would apply a breadth and depth of knowledge to a defined range of situations and would be expected to apply this knowledge to solve a defined range of problems by applying known solutions to a limited range of predictable problems.

The installation, commissioning and de-commissioning of single head, split air conditioning and heat pumps systems to a prescribed routine where the maximum plant capacity for each system does not exceed 18 kW.

This qualification excludes competencies required for service, repair, maintenance, diagnostic/fault finding and electrical work or the safe and proper installation of commercial refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump plant and equipment.

This course teaches you to assemble and position, start up single-head split air-conditioning units and systems to a prescribed routine. This includes wall hung, floor and ceiling suspended, cassette and ducted fan coil split systems and water heating heat.

The UEE31220 – Certificate III in Instrumentation and Control qualification provides competencies to select, install, set up, test, fault find, repair and maintain systems and devices for measurement and recording of physical/chemical phenomenon and related process control.

The PMA30120 Certificate III in Process Plant Operations, as provided by Volt Edge, is a technical qualification that is nationally recognised and reflects the role of advanced operators and operator technicians in hydrocarbons, petrochemical, chemical, metal/ore processing and related process manufacturing industry sectors.

At this level, operators/technicians would undertake more advanced operations, typically of integrated plant units in accordance with the operating procedures, and would apply their knowledge to anticipate problems. They would be expected to solve a range of foreseen and unforeseen problems, using product and process knowledge to develop solutions to problems which do not have a known solution, or a solution recorded in the procedures.

UEE40420 Certificate IV in Electrical – Instrumentation is a qualification completed by fully qualified Electricians to give them the Instrumentation knowledge, experience and skills to select, install, commission, fault find and maintain equipment and systems for the control of plant, machines and processes.

UEE42622 – Certificate IV in Hazardous Areas is available to students nation wide. Our students undertake the Electrical Equipment in Hazardous Areas (EEHA) set of competencies, then undertake an extra 4-5 units of competency which we refer to as Gap Training.

The PMA40116 Certificate IV in Process Plant Technology, as provided by Volt Edge, is a technical qualification for plant technicians and operations technicians who will typically be involved in solving complex problems which require theoretical knowledge, combined with an understanding of the production process and equipment across the plant.

This qualification is typically used to develop employees performing a technical role that includes an ability to work independently and conduct technical problem solving according to the needs of the work in the chemical, hydrocarbons and refining industries.

This course requires students to be currently employed in the Resource Industry with the skills to control complex process within control systems, coordinate start-up and shutdown activities and/or carry out commissioning and decommissioning operations.

This is our first unit in a series of units to introduce learners on how network hardware comes together with hubs, switches and routers using communications and messages and DHCP. Once you have completed this course you will be competent in understanding how this is utilised, some troubleshooting and connecting devices on an Ethernet network.

Our Industrial Networks course is split into a primary section (Communications and Network Topology) and a secondary (Protocols) so you can get an understanding of each sections importance and how they integrate into the overall control and management of plant and equipment.

This course, as delivered by Volt Edge covers the setting up and configuring human machine interface and industrial networks for process control systems to meet performance standards. This unit encompasses the adoption of process control schemes that meet safety and process requirements, selection of control equipment and interconnecting cabling and tubing/piping based on calculated and deemed-to-comply arrangements.
