This course aims to provide students with the skills and knowledge required to operate a forklift truck safely in accordance with all relevant legislative requirements. Competence in this unit, does not in itself result in a High Risk Work Licence to operate this plant.
A person performing this work is required to hold a forklift truck High Risk Work Licence (HRWL).

The day begins in the classroom, discussing safety, weights and measures and towing principles. The remainder of the day involves practical activities designed to improve your understanding and develop your skills for safe hitching, manoeuvring and on-road driving. Before competency can be determined, students must demonstrate they can drive and manoeuvre two different trailers on a road with curves.
