All Meerilinga Training College Courses
This qualification reflects the role of workers in a range of early childhood education settings who work within the requirements of the Education and Care Services National Regulations and the National Quality Standard. They support the implementation of an approved learning framework, and support children’s well-being, learning and development. Depending on the setting, educators may work under direct supervision or autonomously.
Perth child care courses are conveniently held at Meerilinga locations in West Leederville on the corner of Southport and Cambridge Street, just near the Leederville and West Leederville train stations. We also deliver training at Meerilinga Beechboro, Meerilinga Cockburn, Meerlinga Woodvale, and Meerilinga Ballajura, all have free parking and close access to public transport.
To accommodate students with children classes run during school terms and are held 3 days a week 9:30am – 2:30pm. The course runs over an 38 week period with Practical Placements arranged during the course.
If you require additional support our trainers are available during the break for extra intensive tuition. You are required to complete a minimum of 120 hours up to 200 hours Practical Placement in a regulated childcare service. Your work placement hours may vary depending on your progression.
It is recommended that applicants must be 16 years of age or above at the time of course orientation to offer work opportunities. Conditions may apply to school age students as outlined by the Western Australian Department of Education. The National Regulations apply workplace conditions for workers under the age of 18.

They may have responsibility for supervision of volunteers or other staff.
