The qualification is designed for people who wish to obtain a security license in Victoria & work in manpower sector of the private security industry to patrol, protect or guard any property while unarmed (and whether while static or mobile).

Participants must have sufficient skills to read, write and communicate in English and have basic computer skills. Participants must also be physically fit enough, to perform defensive techniques, and bend/kneel for at least 2 minutes for CPR.

This qualification is for security supervisors and security managers who are employed by security firms, engaged in contracting arrangements for personnel and clients. Security supervisors lead teams to coordinate and implement a range of security operations and functions such as control room, monitoring centre, electronic security and guarding.

Security managers coordinate security manpower and services to clients while operating under complex regulatory and contracting arrangements.

After completing the initial requirements and working as a security officer, you have the option to upgrade your skills and knowledge by taking the next certification course, which is CPP31318 Certificate III in Security Operations.

In addition to carrying out patrols and protecting assets and properties, completing a CPP31318 Certificate III in Security Operations course can provide you with the necessary skills to improve your future employment opportunities within the security industry.
