Advance Community College is a non-profit, community-based, registered training organisation that provides training and employment support services across the Mornington Peninsula. From a humble beginning, when we opened our doors on 26 May 1980, Advance has grown from having two staff and one site, to a successful, multi-faceted organisation with three sites and more than 40 staff.
Advance has delivered a range of key, government initiatives from Community Youth Support Scheme (CYSS) and SkillShare in the 1980s to Employment Services and Work Experience programs in the 1990s to preparatory, pre-accredited and accredited training over the last 25 years. Our prime focus is to encourage and support engagement in education by providing opportunities to enhance current skills, learn new skills and improve career prospects for the most disadvantaged members of our local community.
We are committed to providing best practice services that align with industry and community demands and workforce needs. Located in Rosebud, Hastings and Mornington, Advance offers pre-accredited and nationally accredited training, foundation skills and short courses providing pathways to employment and/or further study. We also provide vocational and job seeking support and traineeship/apprenticeship training. Advance is a registered charity and our governance details and publications are available in the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission. Advance provides support to the most disadvantaged and vulnerable members of our community by providing quality low-cost training and education, career development, employment support and community engagement.
