Working Safely With Asbestos Containing Materials
Nationally Recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET)This course has been designed to provide the knowledge and skills to meet the requirements of the unit of competency Working safely with asbestos containing materials.
A person competent in this unit will be able to identify asbestos containing materials and implement the necessary controls measures before performing work that may involve activity that will potentially liberate the asbestos fibres from their bonding material. This can typically occur when working with existing asbestos cement sheeting (AC sheet) or other asbestos containing material in and around residential dwellings, commercial premises and industrial facilities.
