Chisholm’s unique Undergraduate Certificate (UGC) in Community Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) build key foundational skills to work in mental health, alcohol and drug (AOD) and other community support services. The UGC will give you the skills you need to advance your career as a support worker and in other work roles within mental health, AOD or other community work settings. You'll also learn about the legal and ethical frameworks that govern the fields of mental health and AOD, and how these and other developmental considerations impact across the lifespan.

This program has been designed to meet the growing workforce need in the Mental Health and AOD sectors. With direct input from stakeholders, including practitioners, academics and policy makers, the UGC offers a transition to Higher Education learning and skill development, prior to committing to a longer degree program.

Domestic Students

  • There are no mandated entry requirements.

Applicants are required to complete the following intake assessment activities:

  • Submit a current resume
  • Submit your highest level of academic qualification, such as Diploma, Year 12 Certificate or related industry Certificate IV qualification, and any other relevant qualifications.
  • Attend an intake interview with the course coordinator
  • Complete an intake written assessment task
  • There is no ATAR requirement for this course
