Supporting Children and Families with Complex Needs Skill Set
Nationally Recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET)The Skill Set is designed to support Educators, Coordinators, Teachers, Managers and Directors with the necessary knowledge and skills to be more effective in monitoring individuals, responding to behaviours of concern, dealing with conflict and supporting responsibility for behaviour management and change.
This skill set will also assist individuals to plan intervention and support activities; responding effectively for individuals with autism spectrum disorder. Students will develop important skills to effectively collaborate with families to plan and review the provision of care, education and additional supports as required, while learning how to reflect and improve on own professional practice.
Graduates of this program will have improved opportunities to work in varied roles across the sector, including positions to engage with children and families with complex needs, ensuring the best outcomes are achieved.

Entry requirements
Domestic Students
- There are no mandated entry requirements.
- Hold a qualification at Certificate III level or higher in a related field.
- An appropriate level of language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) skills as required per the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) level.
- Current Blue Card or evidence that you have applied for one. To be eligible for Government funding the student must be an existing worker in Early Childhood Education and Care and hold a Certificate III or higher level qualification.
