Restrain persons using handcuffs
Nationally Recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET)This unit specifies the skills and knowledge required to restrain persons using handcuffs.
It applies to people working independently or under limited supervision as members of a security team.
This unit may forms part of the licensing requirements for people engaged in security operations NSW where these are regulated activities.
Security Officers can obtain a permit from the Commissioner of the NSW Police to carry a baton whilst on duty. In order to be granted a permit the Security Officer must provide evidence of the need to carry the baton and/or handcuffs, as well as evidence of Training to carry and use either.

Entry requirements
Domestic Students
- There are no mandated entry requirements.
We require all candidates to hold a current Class 1A NSW Security Licence which must be produced upon enrolment.
Students will be working in the security industry in a capacity the involves any one or more of the following circumstances:
- Carrying on control room operations,
- Patrolling, protecting, watching or guarding cash (cash in transit) or other valuables
- Patrolling, protecting, watching or guarding an airport or other infrastructure.
