Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines.

This unit applies to all persons who may be required to provide CPR, in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.

Entry requirements

Domestic Students

  • There are no mandated entry requirements.
  • Have the ‘Foundation Skills’ (language, literacy and numeracy) that are essential to perform verbal communication in order to make an accurate verbal report to emergency response services or to your workplace supervisor and or manager.
  • A basic level of fitness is also required, students must be able to get up and down from the ground in order to conduct Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation.
  • Have your USI ready prior to course attendance from the USI website.
