First Aid Level 1 (HLTAID010 Provide basic emergency life support) training and re accreditation will be provided by the mixed mode format. This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to recognise and respond to life-threatening emergencies in line with first aid guidelines determined by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) and other Australian national peak clinical bodies.

This unit applies to all persons who may be required to provide an emergency response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings. The ability to perform first aid is an essential life skill that can sometimes mean the difference between life and death. First aid skills are also often required across a range of workplaces. Basic first aid training allows you to perform critical tasks such as CPR, wound care and allergic reaction response./p>
