Prepare to work safely in the construction industry
Nationally Recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET)This unit of competency specifies the mandatory work health and safety training required prior to undertaking construction work. The unit requires the person to demonstrate personal awareness of the knowledge of health and safety legislative requirements in order to work safely and prevent injury or harm to self and others. It covers identifying and orally reporting common constructions hazards, understanding basic risk control measures, and identifying procedures for responding to potential incidents and emergencies. It also covers correctly selecting and fitting common personal protective equipment (PPE) used for construction work.

About Alana Kaye College
Alana Kaye College provides high-quality training as an Australian Registered Training Organisation (RTO 70056; CRICOS 03675K) to national and international students. We meet the standards agreed to by the Australian Government. Currently, our Campuses are located in Darwin, the capital of the Northern Territory of Australia and the Gold Coast in Queensland. In late 2020 Alana Kaye College won the Northern Territory Chief Minister’s Export Award for being the International Education Provider demonstrating resilience and forward-thinking during the COVID-19 Pandemic. We were also awarded the Northern Territory Chief Minister’s Award and was a national finalist for the Emerging Exporter of the Year in 2019. This was based on our strong growth and ability to attract international students to the Northern Territory of Australia. Our reputation as a quality educational facility was a contributing factor in this award. Alana Kaye College has been a finalist in the Northern Territory Training Awards in 2013, 2015 and 2018.
