Candidates must have a degree with sufficient units related to a subject in the school curriculum. As there is a shortage of secondary English, Mathematics and Physics teachers in Australian schools, we particularly encourage students with qualifications in those areas to consider a career in teaching.

- There are no mandated entry requirements.
Admission Requirements
To be considered for admission to this course an applicant must have
- a bachelor's degree, or an equivalent qualification, as recognised by UWA; and
- must have a degree with six units in a discipline that is relevant for the school curriculum major, with at least two of those units studied at second year university level and two at third year university level; and
- the equivalent of a UWA weighted average mark of at least 60 per cent; and
- a satisfactory personal statement, as recognised by UWA.
- Before admission, international students must obtain a criminal record check from their country of origin or recent residence.
English Language Requirements
A valid IELTS Academic overall score of at least 7.5, a minimum score of 7.0 in the Reading and Writing bands, and a minimum score of 8.0 in the Listening and Speaking bands.
