The Master of Public Health (Advanced) builds upon existing knowledge and skills to better equip health professionals in addressing public health issues.

The course places an emphasis on the social determinants of health and prepares you to address inequalities for the most vulnerable populations in Australia and across the globe.

This degree gives professionals from a broad range of health backgrounds the advanced knowledge and skills to address public health challenges locally and around the world.

You’ll enhance your understanding of current global and environmental health issues, ethical practice, health policy, systems and economics, along with social, behavioural and cultural determinants of health and welfare. As an extended degree, this is ideal for international students.

Entry requirements

Domestic Students

  • There are no mandated entry requirements.

A completed qualification at AQF level 7 (bachelor degree) or above from an Australian University or an equivalent overseas higher education qualification.

Applicants without formal qualifications at AQF7 or above may be considered for entry to the Graduate Certificate of Public Health on the basis of a combination of formal (below AQF7) or non-formal qualifications and seven years of relevant experience in a health professional role. Applications will be assessed on a case by case basis. Successful completion of the Graduate Certificate will allow automatic entry to the Graduate Diploma or Master of Public Health with 100% credit.
