Marine Radio Operator's VHF and HF Skill Set

Nationally Recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET)

This course covers the skills and knowledge necessary to apply to the Office of Maritime Communications (OMC) for a Long Range Operator Certificate of Proficiency (LROCP).

If you intend travelling on offshore coastal voyages, or are applying to AMSA for a Certificate of Competence as a Coxswain, Master < 24 or Master < 35, you should obtain an LROCP Certificate which incorporates knowledge of both Medium Frequency/High Frequency (MF/HF) Radios, designed for long range transmission, and VHF radios.
