Heavy Combination Licence (auto & non-synchro)
Nationally Recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET)You’ll learn how to drive and operate a heavy combination vehicle safely and effectively with this course. A heavy combination vehicle can be a prime mover, single semi-trailer, or rigid vehicle with a trailer weighing more than 9 tonne GVM. This course will teach you to control all vehicle functions, monitor the vehicle’s performance, and how to couple and uncouple a trailer.

Entry requirements
Domestic Students
- There are no mandated entry requirements.
- Applicants must hold or have held an Australian car licence for two years.
- Applicants must hold or have held a lower heavy vehicle category for the required minimum time. E.g. Medium Rigid or Heavy Rigid licence for at least 12 months.
- Applicants must pass an eyesight test.
- Applicants must be familiar with the VicRoads Truck and Bus handbook before the course commences.
- Applicants must meet the entry criteria for medical and physical standards
