The Graduate Diploma of Midwifery from Charles Sturt University, accredited by the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council (ANMAC), combines theoretical, simulation and workplace learning over 12 to 18 months of online study.

This midwifery diploma enables you to work and study concurrently as a student midwife while becoming a qualified midwife eligible for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA).

Domestic Students

  • There are no mandated entry requirements.
  • Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency registration as a Registered Nurse
  • Contract with an approved, participating hospital as a student midwife at 0.6-0.8 full-time equivalent (FTE) for the duration of the course
