Developing your professional knowledge and skills at an advanced level can prepare you to respond effectively to such challenges. The Graduate Certificate of Education will develop your understanding of educational principles, pedagogy, practice and policy in selected areas. It offers you opportunities to refine and enhance your knowledge and skills in three key areas: accessing the most up-to-date sources of research and scholarship in your specialist area, analysing and synthesising highly technical literature, and effectively communicating the results to both academic and non-academic audiences.

Entry Qualifications: Depending on your prior qualifications, work experience, or other recognized prior learning, you may qualify for entry to this degree at the admission point below.
- AQF Level 7 Bachelor's Qualification or Recognized Equivalent, and two years (full-time equivalent) of relevant work experience

Relevant Experience: Working with children from birth to 18 years; in early childhood settings, schools, and tertiary institutions focusing on children and families; and includes both government and non-government organizations.
Recognition of Prior Learning: With recognition of prior learning (RPL), you could get credit for your prior study and experience, reducing the duration of your studies. Credit is awarded for formal and informal or non-formal learning. You’ll need to apply for RPL once you receive your offer to study at Macquarie.
English Language Requirements: When applying to study at Macquarie University, you’re required to provide evidence of proficiency in English.
You may satisfy the English language requirements by:
- Passing an approved English language test at the required level
- Holding a qualification from an approved country with English as the language of instruction
