An increase in cyber crime, along with a critical talent shortage, means that the demand for cybersecurity professionals has never been higher. This graduate certificate will allow you to build your knowledge in the field or pathway into a master degree. You can opt to complete it within a short six months (full-time) or one year (part-time). Domestic Students
- There are no mandated entry requirements.
Qualifications
An Australian bachelor degree, with at least a credit (60%) average (or equivalent) in a discipline relating to an IT, Engineering, or Science degree with completed studies in programming and computer architecture.
English requirements
Applicants must also meet the English language requirements.
Secondary schooling or equivalent
You require one of the following:
- a score of 25 in units 3 and 4 of VCE English, VCE Literature, or VCE English Language
- a score of 27 in units 3 and 4 of VCE English as an Additional Language (EAL)
- an equivalent result in an equivalent English subject in a senior secondary qualification
Tertiary study – including VET and higher education
You need satisfactory completion of one of the following:
- the equivalent of an Australian VET Certificate IV course (AQF Level 4), or higher, that has been approved by the faculty as requiring sufficient English skills
- study in an English medium educational institution equivalent to at least 24 Monash credit points (one semester of full-time study) at Australian VET diploma level (AQF Level 5) or higher
- at least two units of higher education study (to a minimum 12 points), of which at least one is an English-rich unit, taken as part of an award or non-award course
- an Australian master's by research or doctoral degree, or equivalent, from an English medium institution.
The University does not accept competency-based qualifications as meeting English language requirements.
English language course
English language preparatory courses aren't normally accepted for applicants whose secondary schooling was taught entirely in English, and are subject to faculty approval on a case-by-case basis.
