This course is designed to provide the participants with the necessary knowledge and skills to operate an elevating work platform (scissor lift) in a safe and competent manner in line with workplace requirements in the building and construction industry.

Entry requirements

Domestic Students

  • There are no mandated entry requirements.
  • Learners must be able to speak, read and understand basic English to communicate to a safe level.
  • Students must be comfortable to work at heights up to 11m (please note – a working at heights ticket is not required in order to complete this course).
  • Learners must be a minimum of 18 years to participate.
  • Learners must provide photo identification upon enrolment in the course (e.g. driver’s licence; passport or proof of age card).
  • Learners must wear personal protective equipment while attending the course including long sleeve shirt, steel capped boots and long trousers.
  • Learners must have a unique student identifier (USI) to obtain their nationally accredited certificate or qualification.
