Entry into Care Roles Skill Set

Nationally Recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET)

This skill set addresses the skills and knowledge required to provide entry level support for basic client care for a range of roles and purposes required within the aged care and disability support sectors. The support provided in client care will be predominantly non-direct, with some basic direct client care, in order to maintain the safety of both the learner and client in care.

The skill set curriculum focuses on key areas, such as person-centred care, communication techniques, safety protocols, and ethical considerations.

Entry requirements

Domestic Students

  • There are no mandated entry requirements.

Admission requirements are completion of BKSB assessment with an outcome of ACSF exit level 2 - working level 3, for both literacy and numeracy, students need to be at a minimum age of 18 to complete the course.
