Enter and work in confined spaces – basic
Nationally Recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET)This course is suitable for those people working in operational roles that are required to enter confined spaces (enclosed or partially enclosed) for the purpose of carrying out work or inspections. The course can be contextualised to suit the actual scenarios relevant to your organisations confined space operations. This course is designed to train participants how to identify confined space hazards, how to work safely within confined spaces according to an issued permit and how to operate various confined space safety equipment.
This course is not suitable for Standby persons or Observers as it is a generic course designed to cover the knowledge and skills required for entering and working in a confined space only which includes hazard identification and their typical control measures, entry permit roles and responsibilities and when it is appropriate for a person to enter and leave a confined space. Acting as a confined space standby person or observer requires additional knowledge and skills as described in the WHS Regulations 2017.

Entry requirements
Domestic Students
- There are no mandated entry requirements.
- Each participant should be reasonably physically fit and have level 2 Language, Literacy and Numeracy capabilities
