Electrical Pre-Apprenticeship
Nationally Recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET)CET provides a course for early career starters who have an Electrician's Training Licence arranged as part of induction, to gain a UEE22020 Certificate II in Electrotechnology (Career Start).
This nationally accredited qualification is designed to provide participants with industry specific training to gain skills, knowledge and behaviours to enable transition into an indentured apprenticeship in the Electrotechnology Industry. The qualification covers competencies fulfilling the requirements of a work entry program and provides grounding in safety, opportunity to develop high level individual and team communication skills and the undertaking of work placement.

On campus
Work with instructors and classmates in a supportive and collaborative environment.
Work Placement
Complete mandatory hands-on training in a workplace setting.

Entry requirements
Domestic Students
- There are no mandated entry requirements.
- Applicants must possess an Electrician’s Training Licence;
- Be commencing year 11 or 12;
- Have ‘C’ grade average at the end of year 10;
- Have support from their school including endorsement of work readiness;
- Meet Australian citizenship or visa requirements.

CET is Western Australia’s largest provider of electrical training offering courses at pre-apprentice, apprenticeship and post trade levels.
Delivering to over 6,500 students annually across two campuses (Jandakot and Joondalup), and a regional Trade Training Centre (Bunbury), CET ensures all electrical training solutions are catered for including a range of pre-apprenticeship and apprenticeship programs.
CET continues to provide the WA electrical and communications industry with the highest quality apprenticeship and post-trade training courses from state of the art campuses in Joondalup and Jandakot. In 2023, CET trained over half of all electrical apprentices in the state, with a completion rate of 91% - well above the national average. In 2023, CET caught up with over 10,000 potential students at our open days, school career evenings and at the two major Jobs and Skills Expos.
