Dual Certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs & Certificate IV in Community Services
Nationally Recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET)This comprehensive dual qualification program is designed for individuals seeking an in-depth understanding of the complex interplay between Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) and Community Services.
The course integrates knowledge and skills in addressing harmful substance use with a broader understanding of community development, social welfare, and support services. Graduates will emerge equipped to work effectively in diverse community settings, fostering holistic well-being and contributing to positive social change.
Course length for Certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs is 14 months and the course length for Certificate IV in Community Services is 11 months. However, due to these two qualifications including many of the same study units, you can complete this dual qualification in just 15 months.

Set your own study schedule and balance study with your other commitments.
Study Mode and Times
Virtual Training Room (day or night) – Study online one day or night per week with instructor-led virtual training via video conferencing, supplemented with guided activities via the Learning Management System (eLearning).- One (1) day per week: 9:30am – 4:00pm
- One (1) night per week: 5:30pm – 9:00pm
One (1) day on campus is required to complete HLTAID011 Provide First Aid.
Time zones: Local state time zones are observed

Course fees
- VIC Subsidised Training This training may be subsidised by the VIC Government for eligible individuals. Places are limited.
Student tuition fees are subject to change given individual circumstances at enrolment. In addition to tuition fees, there may also be other charges such as material or amenities fees. A genU Training staff member can help you determine your course fees. A statement of fees detailing all course charges will be provided prior to enrolment.
Fee for Service: $4,900
Eligible students from Victoria can access government funding for this dual qualification.
