Diploma of Music (Performance)
Nationally Recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET)This performance music course is designed to set you up as a performer, songwriter, studio musician, producer, composer, band member or music teacher in the music industry. Box Hill Institute will provide you with the skills and experiences you need to excel in these professions.
You'll gain access to our amazing studio facilities, our on campus record label TVR Records as well as our industry standard writing and production suites.
You'll perform real gigs in front of live audiences, work in a live venue with a capacity of more than 200, produce your own creative portfolio and collaborate with sound production students in our world-class facilities.
The course will empower you to apply practical and theoretical aspects of music to real creative projects. You'll also get access to our analogue synth collection while studying with like-minded creatives and expand your industry networks.

Entry requirements
Domestic Students
- There are no mandated entry requirements.
You must have a Certificate III or IV in Music Industry or:
- have successfully completed Year 12 or equivalent, or be a mature age applicant
- be at least 17 years of age at the time of course commencement and have a reasonable level of proficiency on a musical instrument, (or voice), and or audio production
