Nationally Recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET)Diploma of Information Technology (Cyber Security) at the National Institute of Technology is a practical, hands-on qualification aimed at equipping you with the essential skills and knowledge required to a become well-rounded cybersecurity professional.
You will be exposed to popular technologies in IT Networking and cyber-security such as Windows and Linux operating systems; networking equipment including routers, switches, and wireless access points; Next-Gen Firewalls like FortiGate; SIEM/SOC platforms. The course also covers many concepts that will help you in your preparation for Cisco CCNA and Fortinet NSE4 certifications.

Entry requirements
Domestic Students
- There are no mandated entry requirements.
Age
- Domestic students must be 16 years or above at the time of application to study at NIT.
- International students must be 18 years or above before the commencement of study at NIT.
Academic
- A minimum of Year 12* or equivalent qualification; or
- Year 11* or equivalent plus either a minimum 1 year of relevant work experience^ or a relevant accredited or non-accredited course; or
- Successful completion of Certificate IV level or a higher qualification
English Language Proficiency
- Overall IELTS band score of 5.5, with no band score less than 5.0; or
- An equivalent score in another English Language Proficiency Test acceptable by National Institute of Technology; or
- An alternative English language proficiency evidence that is acceptable by National Institute of Technology.
