The Diploma of TESOL is designed to get you employment ready for high level ESL Teaching or Coordinating positions, such as:
- Coordinating or Teaching online English programs
- Coordinating English as a Second Language programs
- Teaching English overseas
- Teaching English language programs in Australia (where a higher education degree is not required)
- Be an English as a Second Language (ESL) Teacher Aid
- Teach English in Australia to groups of visiting students or migrants
- Developing English language programs for individual or small groups of overseas students on a tutorial basis (to support existing studies, e.g. at University level)
- Be an English as a Second Language (ESL) Tutor Volunteer teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) either in Australia or Overseas

Entry requirements
Domestic Students
- There are no mandated entry requirements.
It is important that you have an adequate level of written and spoken English ability. This is not only so that you have the skills to complete the course, but also so that you can be a successful English as a Second Language teacher. To gain entry to the TESOL Course, you will need to give us evidence that you meet the entry requirements. This can be one of the following:
- Completion of Year 12 English (pass level or higher)
- Completion of other studies (Cert III or higher)
- An endorsed English test (minimum IELTS 6.0 or equivalent)
- An entry test conducted by us (contact us to arrange entry testing)
