Nationally Recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET)Fashion is an exciting area of study that combines art, design, technical skill, and commerce. Designed as a professional qualification in fashion design, this course will teach you skills in design, fashion illustration, technical drawing, textiles, patternmaking, and technical skills for commercial garment construction. This will set you up for a career in fashion design.
Learn in a simulated industry design studio with industrial machinery and the latest software to design and produce customised fashion garments for your professional portfolio of work. Our textile area is using innovative technology to address sustainable and environmental practices for job of the future.
A major component of your course is the design and production of customised fashion garments to create a professional portfolio of work.

Entry requirements
Domestic Students
- There are no mandated entry requirements.
To be successful in this course you need a Senior Secondary Certificate (Year 12) or have relevant work or other practical experience.
To ensure students have the appropriate foundation and underpinning skills and knowledge, the student must hold the following units from the MST31022 Certificate III in Apparel, Fashion and Textiles or the pre-requisites on the Diploma timetable. Alternatively, students may demonstrate the equivalent industry experience in following units:
• MSTAT2005 Sew materials by machine
• CUAACD311 Produce drawings to communicate ideas
If you are from a culturally and linguistically diverse background, and are using English as a second language (both oral and written), you must have English skills equivalent to IELTS 6.
