Nationally Recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET)This qualification reflects the role of workers who work under broad supervision and guidance and provide services to clients with alcohol and other drugs issues.
They can provide counselling, referral and promotion services. These workers require high-level specialist knowledge, skills and competencies especially concerning laws affecting clients, the range of services available to them and health issues related to alcohol and drugs use and misuse.

Entry requirements
Domestic Students
- There are no mandated entry requirements.
Applicants must successfully complete BKSB assessment with an outcome of exit level 3 (working at 4) for literacy and exit level 2 (working at 3) for numeracy, mature age (over 18 years of age), Student Enquiry and Enrolment Services may refer the applicant to the Community and Social Services Department to assess the applicant's suitability to meet the requirements of the course.
