This nationally recognised qualification is a prerequisite for those wanting to be certified as an Open Cut Examiner (OCE) for an above ground coal mine.

The Certificate IV in Surface Coal Mining (Open Cut Examiner) is a mandatory qualification for people who don’t have a Bachelor of Mining Engineering through an Australian university but want to perform the role of Open Cut Examiner (OCE) at a surface coal mine or open cut coal mine site.

This qualification will give you skills to manage a broad range of, day-to-day, operational mining activities as well as handle in-depth issues and problems.
