Certificate IV in Residential Building Drafting
Nationally Recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET)This qualification will provide you with the practical skills and knowledge to prepare drawings, estimates and plans and liaise with architects, builders and contractors of residential buildings.
You will learn how to present and document building projects using both manual and computer-aided drafting techniques. You will learn about building materials, construction methods and the social and environmental aspects of residential construction projects. Part of this qualification will involve project-based learning where you will work with an industry mentor and apply the skills and knowledge you have learned.
During the course you will cover the theory, underpinning knowledge and practical skills required to produce documentation suitable for gaining a building permit and for the on-site construction of Class 1 and Class 10 Residential Housing projects in accordance with the provisions of Volume 2 of the Building Codes of Australia.
