This program empowers you with the skills and expertise necessary to pursue careers as a technical assistant, technician, or instrument operator. It provides comprehensive training on conducting experiments, gathering measurements, operating scientific equipment, documenting results, and presenting them for thorough analysis. Furthermore, the course covers aspects of occupational health and safety (OHS) and best laboratory practices, encompassing both fieldwork and lab work.
In their roles, these professionals conduct a diverse range of routine and intricate tests, often dealing with unconventional samples and using instruments with a wide array of operational variables. They communicate sample requirements to colleagues and may collaborate with suppliers to troubleshoot product non-conformance issues. Additionally, they have the capacity to instruct others in the methodologies and train team members in sample collection and the execution of fundamental tests with consistency.
This qualification consists of sixteen (16) units of competency, of which there are four (4) core units and twelve (12) electives.

About ABC Training and Consulting
ABC Training and Consulting has been operating as an RTO (#5800) in QLD for 20+ years, originally under the name of Alan Bartlett Consulting. In 2017 a management change resulted in a change of direction and a concentration of training provision within a few niche industry areas: Laboratory Operations, Forest and Wood Products and Manufacturing.
Our primary training method is blended learning, consisting of on-the-job training for practical demonstrations, observations and discussions and the provision of a theory component via online or paper-based.
