Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention

The Certificate IV in Child Youth and Family Intervention is offered as a course with a specialised elective stream in residential and out-of-home care.
By enrolling in this course, students will gain the knowledge and skills needed to excel in the dynamic field of youth and family intervention. Throughout the program, participants will receive comprehensive training under a supportive supervision framework.
They'll learn to navigate within clearly defined organisational guidelines, service plans, and position specifications, ensuring students are well-equipped for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.

Domestic Students
- There are no mandated entry requirements.
GOTAFE entry requirements
Complete a Basic Key Skills Builder (BKSB) online test to ensure the required literacy & numeracy levels for the course are met.
Undertake a Pre-training Review to document previous work experience and qualifications and assess suitability for the course.
Must be 18 years old before commencing the course.
A further interview may be required with the Coordinator/Manager of the course.
Placement requirements
- National Police Check for workers, not less than 6 months old at the time of commencement of placement.
- WWWC (Working with Children’s Check for volunteer) with at least 1 year before expiry.
- NDIS Credentials (NDIS Screening).

- Access to a digital camera or video camera for visual and audio assessment tasks.
- General stationary (pens, pencils, rulers).
