Certificate IV in Building and Construction
Nationally Recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET)You will learn the skills and knowledge to work in the building and construction industry with particular focus on low rise buildings and light steel structures. The course includes learning about the BCA, codes and standards, estimating and site supervision.
Throughout your studies you will be exposed to a wide range of building sites and structures currently under construction in the ACT, engage with key industry employers, visit building projects and liaise with a range of project managers and stakeholders across a broad range of ventures.
This qualification is required to meet the ACT Class C builder's license.

Entry requirements
Domestic Students
- There are no mandated entry requirements.
To be successful in this course and to meet the required outcomes you will need to have access to a workplace that services building and project management types of work.
Within the first semester of study, to enable you to go onto worksites you must have completed additional training in:
- White Card (CPCWHS1001 - Prepare to work safely in the construction industry)
- Asbestos Awareness (11084NAT - Statement of Attainment in Asbestos Awareness) and
- Silica Prevention (10830NAT - Statement of Attainment -Course in Crystalline Silica Exposure Prevention)
