Certificate IV in Building and Construction (Building)
Nationally Recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET)The CPC40110 Certificate IV in Building and Construction (Building) is a nationally recognised qualification covers the skills and knowledge relating to the construction and management of residential and commercial low rise building projects.
It gives existing tradespeople the opportunity to advance their career to become a licensed low-rise builder through the QBCC in Queensland.
Core offers all students the opportunity to obtain recognition of their existing skills and knowledge gained through their years on the tools. This means you only train in areas that you are not currently familiar with and can reduce the duration of your course significantly.
There are no specific listed physical attributes that a student is required to have to undertake any of the units, however as construction is a physically demanding career, there is an expectation that students have the physical ability to perform tasks on a worksite as required.
Students are expected to demonstrate an adequate level of language, literacy and numeracy skills (to read and interpret building plans, specifications, contracts, codes and standards.
Students will also be required to undertake an online Literacy, Language and Numeracy indicator prior to commencement.
This ensures that students have the necessary language, literacy and numeracy skills to be able to succeed in their training and assessment. If you identify as needing additional support, or where we identify through our own testing that is required, a student support strategy will be developed and agreed upon between all parties prior to you starting the course.
As this is an online program in the training and assessment pathway, you will need access to a computer and have basic computer skills. If this is not possible, students will need to discuss with Core Industry Training their specific requirements and alternatives will be sought.
We also offer all students the opportunity to obtain recognition of their existing skills and knowledge gained through their relevant job experience and obtain credit for previous studies that directly correlate to the units we deliver. For more information see the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) tab below.
This qualification has been superseded and is currently in a transition to a new qualification. In line with our registering body requirements the existing qualification is still able to be enrolled in, completed and have qualifications issued. Core will be offering the new qualification within the next 6 – 12 months.
