This qualification reflects the role of individuals in a variety of building and construction job roles. These individuals may have frontline management accountabilities. Individuals in these roles carry out moderately complex tasks in a specialist field of expertise that requires building operations skills. They may possess substantial experience in a range of settings but seek to further develop their skills across a wide range of building and construction functions.

You’ll broaden your existing vocational or educational experience and learn about building codes and standards, estimating, site management, OHS policies, contracts, permit applications and small business management. When you complete the Certificate IV in Building and Construction, you will have the confidence and ability to be an affective building and construction professional.

Entry requirements

Domestic Students

  • There are no mandated entry requirements.

Admission requirements are completion of BKSB assessment with an outcome of ACSF exit level 3 - working level 4, for both literacy and numeracy, Applicants must be 18 years or over, Completed Year 10 or equivalent, Completion of the general construction induction training program, specified in the Safe Work Australia model Code of Practice: Construction Work, is required to carry out construction work or attend a construction site. CPCCWHS1001 meets this requirement, CPCCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry (White card) is required for site visits and must be provided at the time of enrolment.
