Core and Elective Units: This qualification comprises both core and elective units of competency. These units are structured to cover the skills needed for four specialist and one general underground metalliferous mining streams. To earn the qualification, candidates must fulfill the core and elective unit requirements of one of these streams, ensuring electives are pertinent to the work environment, align with the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF), and contribute to a valid, industry-supported vocational outcome.
