According to the Australian Government's Job Outlook service, carpentry and joinery skills are in demand with employers finding it hard to fill vacancies. This is a very large occupation with around 69,000 job openings expected over the next five years.
In this course you will learn how to plan and set out fittings for shops and other retail spaces. You'll select from and use a range of materials, tools and machinery to fabricate and assemble the components needed to construct and install shopfronts, cabinets, wall units, showcases and counters. You’ll also learn about surface finishes, occupational health and safety, job planning and management of materials.
Successful completion of this qualification as part of your apprenticeship will make you a qualified shopfitter ready to take the next step in your construction career.
