SHB30221 Certificate III in Make-Up

In the Makeup profession, you’ll be dedicated to helping people feel and look their very best. The Certificate III in Make-Up is a nationally accredited course that qualifies you as a professional make-up artist. During this intensive 18 week course you will learn advanced make-up and cosmetic techniques to create a range of beauty and glamour make-up looks to give you the full confidence to launch your freelance or retail make-up career.

Travel the world with transferable skills or use your knowledge to work in an established salon or to launch your own salon business. The Certificate III in Makeup is also an ideal course for a hairdresser and a beautician who wants to expand their skills in the Beauty Industry. It’s also great entry course for students who likes to pursue a career in Make-Up.

Our course content selection provides you with the knowledge, attitude and skills to work in the makeup industry as a freelance makeup artist. From day one you will develop a broad range of competencies, opening doors to the makeup industry – from applying make-up and airbrushed make-up for a variety of different aesthetics and situations, collaborate with industry professionals in a production setting, use advanced application techniques, apply essential small business skills to start your own business. Develop your Communication skills to connect with your clients and other industry professionals, in Customer service, collaboration and consultation skills and problem solving strategies to meet client expectations.

There is also demand for makeup artist to join other industries with cruise ships providing wonderful opportunities for travel, experience and growth.


On Campus Delivery

Our campuses are located in Sydney and Melbourne. To successfully complete this course, you will need to attend face-to-face classes for 2 days per week or two evenings + one day per week for 18 weeks. You will have off campus structured learning activities including homework, assignments, assessment preparation and online study. You will complete 15 units of study to gain Certificate III in Makeup. Classes are a blend of make-up theory and make-up practical lessons. Students are also further supported with extensive industry-leading on-demand online resource library and learning portals.

Duration - This is an 18-week course. As it is online you are welcome to access the platform 24/7 allowing you full flexibility to complete each unit within your preferred day / time. Students will have access to the course for a period of six months from the date of enrolment to allow additional time to complete, resubmit or revisit any of the learning material.


Online Delivery

To successfully complete this course, students are required to complete all of the visual training aids, such as the step-by-step video tutorials, theory sessions, homework, assignments, quiz tasks and all assessments for each unit. There are a total of 15 units in the Certificate III in Make-up course. These units are all available for study and completion on our industry-leading, on-demand online learning platform. Once a unit has been successfully completed our team of qualified trainers will assess the students work and provide ongoing feedback and support to help you on your study journey.

Entry Requirements

No formal education requirements to enrol in course.

All courses at The Makeup Technicians are taught in English. Applicants will need to show evidence of suitable English proficiency for the course they have chosen. Students must have a minimum English language level of IELTS 5.5 or equivalent.
