Certificate III in Individual Support

Nationally Recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET)

This qualification reflects the role of workers in the community and/or residential setting who follow an individualised plan to provide person-centred support to people who may require support due to ageing, disability or some other reason. Work involves using discretion and judgement in relation to individual support as well as taking responsibility for own outputs. Workers have a range of factual, technical and procedural knowledge, as well as some theoretical knowledge of the concepts and practices required to provide person-centred support.

Entry requirements

Domestic Students

  • There are no mandated entry requirements.

In accordance with Department of Health directives, all residential aged care workers must be vaccinated against COVID-19 as a condition of employment. This includes volunteers and students on placement.

On campus delivery

You must be 17 years of age at the commencement of the course and have turned 18 years of age at the time work placement is scheduled. If you are under the age of 18, you can study the course work but won’t be able to complete the qualification until you turn 18 years of age and can successfully complete the work placement requirements. You must undertake an interview and be able to produce a current police check and working with children check prior to placement.

Lyndoch Living delivery

You must be 18 years of age at the time of enrolment. You must show evidence that you have applied for an NDIS worker screening check. Lyndoch Living acknowledges that NDIS worker screening checks can take time and will accept proof that students have applied and a statuary declaration that students do not have any issues of concern on their check.
