Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing)

This qualification reflects the role of individuals in the community, home or residential care setting who work under supervision and delegation as part of a multi-disciplinary team, following an individualised plan to provide person-centred support to people who may require support due to ageing, disability or some other reason.
These individuals take responsibility for their own outputs within the scope of their job role and delegation. Workers have a range of factual, technical and procedural knowledge, as well as some theoretical knowledge of the concepts and practices required to provide person-centred support.
The skills in this qualification must be applied in accordance with Commonwealth and State/Territory legislation, Australian standards and industry codes of practice.
To achieve this qualification, the candidate must have completed at least 120 hours of work as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of the units of competency.
No licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication.

Entry requirements
Domestic Students
- There are no mandated entry requirements.
- Must be 18 years of age at the time of enrolment
- All students are required to complete a Pre-training review prior to entry into the course. This will ensure that this course is the most appropriate course for you based on your goals and aspirations.
- You must complete a Language, Literacy and Numeracy assessment prior to entry. This will demonstrate that you have the appropriate ACSF levels for entry into the course.
- You must have internet access, a computer and access to Microsoft Office
- You must have up to date vaccinations - this will include immunisations for the flu, COVID-19 and Hepatitis A and B
- You must have a clear national police check and a current Working with Children Check at the time of placement

About Disability Training Services
Our vision and passion is to ensure that individuals in the aged care and disability (NDIS) sectors are supported by qualified staff and people who have the right values. Our courses are designed to teach you best practices so that you are equipped and ready to go once qualified.
We want students who have a passion for empowering our ageing population and those with a disability to be more independent. Working in the aged care and disability sectors can be tough and very task orientated. Bringing empathy into the mix can allow you to become a better carer and connect with your residents and clients.
