This is an Australian Apprenticeship course, combining paid work with training. Mature age people can also apply for apprenticeships. This apprenticeship course provides the off-the-job training component of a mechanical engineering apprenticeship. You will learn the knowledge, skills and applications required to begin a career as a fitter and machinist. The course delivery encompasses a combination of remote and flexible delivery methods.. This includes easy to navigate online tutorials, video conferencing (classroom simulation) as well as face-to-face practical assessments and work placements – where safe and practical to implement. You will require access to the internet and a computer to undertake this course

Entry requirements

Domestic Students

  • There are no mandated entry requirements.

Full time employment as a mechanical engineering apprentice, under a training agreement established. To start an apprenticeship, you need to find a job as an apprentice and sign a training contract with your employer. (Year 11 or Year 12 is usually an advantage).
