Nationally Recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET)The MEM30219D Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade (Fitting) qualification defines the skills and knowledge required of an Engineering Tradesperson - Fitter. Fitters assemble, maintain and repair machines, tools and equipment. They work closely with machinists, with a large amount of work carried out in a workshop or factory setting. The majority of learning for an apprentice fitter is hands-on and practical. The skills associated with this qualification are intended to apply to a wide range of mechanical trade work, including undertaking fitting, assembly, manufacture, installation, modification, testing, fault finding, maintenance and service of mechanical equipment, machinery and the use of machine tools.
