Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade (Boilermaking / Welding)

This practical course will allow you to become trade qualified as a boilermaker or welder. Demand for structural steel and welding trades workers in Australia continues to grow. According to the Government's Job Outlook service, there's likely to be around 47,000 job openings over the next five years with opportunities available in the manufacturing, construction and mining industries.

Learn how to assemble fabricated components, perform sheet and plate assembly, interpret technical drawings, and perform gas tungsten arc welding, manual metal arc welding, gas metal arc welding and welding to code standards. You'll also discover to mark off and fabricate structural steel and other metal stock to make or repair metal products and structures such as boilers and pressure vessels. You'll graduate with industry-specific skills in welding and boilermaking, as well as skills in planning, engineering measurement, interpreting technical drawings, and computer technology. Our industry-expert teachers will ensure you can apply occupational health and safety and code standards to work effectively.

uccessful completion of this course will prepare you for a career as a boilermaker, steel fabricator or welder in the engineering, manufacturing, transport and construction industries. You will also be well placed to progress your career in the field of engineering fabrication.
