Studying this Apprenticeship at GOTAFE, students will learn to select, install, set up, test, repair, and maintain electrical systems and equipment in buildings and premises. It includes Electrical Regulatory Authority Council (ERAC), or their successor’s, Essential Performance Capabilities for an ‘Unrestricted Electrician’s license’.

Entry requirements
Domestic Students
- There are no mandated entry requirements.
- Complete a Basic Key Skills Builder (BKSB)an online test to ensure the required literacy & numeracy levels for the course are met.
- Undertake a Pre-training review interview to ensure the course suits their needs and aspirations, and that they are likely to complete the course successfully.
- Prospective Traineeship or Apprenticeship students are required to apply through an Apprenticeship Network Provider with their employer to organise their apprenticeship contract before applying for this course.

- VIC Subsidised Training This training may be subsidised by the VIC Government for eligible individuals. Places are limited.
- NSW Subsidised Training This training may be subsidised by the NSW Government for eligible individuals. Places are limited.
