Skilled Up’s Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care covers the fundamentals of childhood development, caring for children, and planning leisure and play activities, all focused on the child’s development.
Your role as an early childhood educator is diverse. Most childcare centres segment children by age, so during a typical week, you might work with babies, toddlers, and pre-school aged children. Your role is to guide children, and facilitate learning through play and various activities and experiences. As you guide (rather than lead), you are ensuring a child is safe and happy, but also letting him or her develop and choose their own learning style on their own pathway.
Note: You must have working with children and policy check prior to commence your work placement.

Traineeship
Work and gain real-world experience while earning a qualification.
Entry requirements
Domestic Students
- There are no mandated entry requirements.
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Police Check required for industry work placement.
- Evidence of COVID-19 vaccination is required to undertake practical placement in skilled Up setting.
Course fees
- VIC Subsidised Training This training may be subsidised by the VIC Government for eligible individuals. Places are limited.
