Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care

The Certificate III in Childcare is the nationally recognised qualification (CHC30121 – Certificate III Early Childhood Education and Care) you need to be enrolled in, to commence work in an early childhood education and care setting.

The Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care is critical to learning the fundamental skills and knowledge to provide safe care and suitable education for babies through to toddlers and kindergarten age.

MCFE’s Cert III Childcare course will ensure you build your skills to become a professional and confident childcare educator. As an educator, you will be responsible for providing the best possible care of children within a childcare service, based on the needs of each individual child and their programs.

Domestic Students

  • Enrolment Form 17 years of age and over

  • Access to a computer or smart device and the internet
  • Intermediate digital literacy skills
    - Navigate the internet
    - Use word
    - Upload and download
    - Make online bookings
    - Complete online assessments on a learning management system
    - Use email

Availability

  • Class-based: One day a week for 5 hours
  • Ability to undertake 160 hours practical placement at a regulated children's service
