Certificate III in Carpentry

It’s a hands-on program designed for people who want to begin a career as a carpenter without doing an apprenticeship. Lots of people from different backgrounds like it because it helps them start successful careers in building and construction.

Course Duration
- 3 face to face classes per week (7:00 am – 3:00 pm) on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
- The total timetabled sessions including holiday and study breaks is 64 weeks.
- Plus 1 additional week of student support if required.

Entry requirements
Domestic Students
- There are no mandated entry requirements.
Age: 18 years or older.
English Language:
Proof of meeting one of the following:
- Passed VCE English or VCE ESL at year 12 level or equivalent.
- Demonstrated sufficient LLN skills through pre-training review process.
Pre-Training Review:
Evaluation includes assessment of:
- Language, Literacy, and Numeracy skills.
- Understanding of course structure.
- Computer literacy.
- Motivation for course enrolment.

About Trade Institute of Victoria
The Trade Institute of Victoria (TIV), established in 2007, is a leading RTO for building and construction courses in Victoria, with five locations.
TIV offers government-funded programs from Apprenticeship to Diploma levels, including Certificate III in Carpentry, Certificate IV in Building and Construction, and the Diploma of Building and Construction.
