Progress your career with this apprenticeship qualification to become a qualified automotive body builder. You may be involved in the manufacture of buses, trucks, trailers or specialised vehicles such as emergency services vehicles.

According to the Australian Government's Job Outlook service, demand for vehicle body builders and trimmers is set to remain steady with around 2,000 job openings expected over the next five years. Employers are looking for qualified candidates who are reliable, work well in a team, and have a strong work ethic.

This course provides you with the technical skills to safely and effectively replace and repair bus and vehicle body panels and fittings, and install and fit out components for buses, trucks and trailers. Learn how to apply your skills in fabrication of components including welding, fiberglassing and other manufacture techniques. You'll also discover how to assemble, install and test hydraulic system kits and overhaul air braking systems. Our industry-expert teachers will help you consolidate your on-the-job learning with underpinning skills and knowledge.

Successful completion of this course as part of your apprenticeship will allow you to apply for recognition as a qualified tradesperson in the manufacture of vehicle bodies.
